Top 5 Reasons Why 44% of Japanese Population Are Still Virgins
Tokyo, Japan. 44% of Japanese millennials are adult virgins. Japanese government released a published survey from National Institute of Population and Social Security Research last September claiming that 42% of men and 44.2% of women aged between 18 to 34 -- are still virgins. Needless to say, almost half of Japan's millennial are singles and the government expressed worry since it directly affects the country's birthrate. Japan has one of the world's lowest birthrates and is home to a severely aging population, with a recent survey finding 34.6 million Japanese aged over 65. The significant numbers in marriage and birthrate decline and the rapid growth of adult Japanese virgins urged the government to take action to remedy the situation.
Over the years, the government has introduced several measures to lift the birthrate. Fathers was encouraged to take more than the 47% of annual paid leave they currently use, and their employers will be told to provide more opportunities for them to stay at home with their children. Local authorities, meanwhile, are devising novel ways to increase fertility. In the town of Yamatsuri women will receive one million yen if they have a third child, and in Ishikawa prefecture families with three children will get discounts at shops and restaurants.
But despite, the government's attempts to boost the number of marriages and children, this year's survey results don't reveal a swerve in the right direction. Moreover, while some adult virgins prefer it that way, others would like their fortunes to change, with 85.7% of men and 89.3% of women harboring hopes of marriage in the future.

Japan's lack of interest in sex is blamed on these top 5 reasons;
1. Too much entertainment.
Technological advancement is rapidly rising, and along with it is the growth of entertainment applications and virtual reality games that is leading single men to choose entertainment over real love and sex.
2. Work
Work taking precedence over family and relationship is a perennial problem that goes a long way back into the ancient times. With a first world like Japan, it was a great challenge indeed.
3. Manga/ Anime/ Television Dramas
Japan is home to the fantasy land of anime, manga and Television dramas that inadvertently created an illusion and unrealistic idealism that is far from reality. Making it difficult for both men and women to find life time partners because they were so caught up with the idea of prince charming in a white horse, a damsel in distress and a happily ever after.
4. Inability to attract sexual partners
Nancy Snow, a professor of public diplomacy from the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, told CNN that changing social and economic norms contributed to the decrease in relationships between men and women. Some men's sense of self is tied to their salary and they feel threatened by women who are empowering themselves," said Snow. She further explained that the income decrease made men in Japan feel less confident in attracting Japan's increasingly successful class of women, who have become used to earning their own money and putting themselves first.
5. Lack of Interest
"While men are going from a cradle to grave trajectory, there are a lot of professional women with disposable incomes, who think that marriage might not just be worth it."
Further research stated that, Asian males tend to be among those who are less sexually active and have fewer partners. There are different sets of values, different motivations for the future and thoughts about how sexual experience may or may not affect achievements down the road
