After Ali walked out, he sat on the stone bench along the bay and called his Mother. It was the first time he called since stepping on the Greek soil and his Mother was concerned.

"Masyadong lang busy, Ma." Ali reasoned to her and without giving any more details and with a catch on his voice he said, "I miss you Ma."

"Magkagalit daw kayo ni Iris, ano ba ang problema?"

"Wala naman Ma, nagkaayos na kami ni Iris." He was lying because he doesn't want to answer any more questions and he just called because it was his Mother he always went up to whenever he was in some kind of pain. His Mother was still concerned but did not pressed any further. "I love you, Ma." He said before hanging up.

For a while, he just sat in numb silence as he looked at the magnificent panorama of Greek coastline.

Iris, who followed him, stopped and for a few minutes looked at him from the distance. Then, she sighed, she was filled with mixed emotions but one thing was certain, she still loves him and she cannot ignore the fact that he must be hurting. She approached him and sat beside him in silence.

Ali saw her as soon as she sat beside him. Looked at her looking at him with an unspoken sympathy on her face.

That fateful night...
